Why Baby Alpaca
Feels Different

Most winter scarves rely on thickness to create warmth. Baby alpaca works differently.
Despite its name, baby alpaca does not come from baby alpacas. It refers to the finest and softest fibers naturally produced by adult alpacas.
These exceptionally fine fibers create a scarf that feels noticeably softer against the skin while remaining lightweight, breathable and naturally warm.
That’s why we craft every Tukuy scarf exclusively from 100% baby alpaca wool.
- Exceptionally soft
- Lightweight yet warm
- Naturally breathable
- Durable and long-lasting
- Comfortable for sensitive skin

A Small Piece of Peru
I’m Juan, the founder of Tukuy.
I was born in Peru, and after moving to Europe, I wanted to bring a small piece of my country to the world. That’s how Tukuy was born.
In Quechua, the language of the Incas, Tukuy means transform, and my vision was to transform the way people dress through more conscious choices and a deeper connection to where their clothing comes from.
Together with Peruvian producers, we create small-batch pieces using 100% baby alpaca wool. While many alpaca products are blended with synthetic, we chose to showcase alpaca wool in its purest form.
Tukuy is more than a brand. It’s a connection to Peru, its people and its craftsmanship.
Thank you for being part of the journey.

Baby alpaca is prized for its exceptional softness. Its finer, smoother fibers feel gentle against the skin, making it a comfortable alternative to traditional wool. Naturally breathable and lightweight, it helps regulate temperature throughout the day, providing warmth when you need it without overheating.
Alpaca is one of the few natural fibers that comes in a wide range of naturally occurring colors. There are more than 22 natural shades, ranging from white and ivory to camel, brown, gray and black. Because these colors come directly from the fiber itself, they can be enjoyed without the use of dyes or artificial coloring processes. Super eco-friendly 🙂
