I’m Juan, founder of Tukuy. Connecting people with the essence of my country, Peru, and empowering local communities, inspired me to create Tukuy, a purpose driven brand.

We’re all about generating a positive impact in local communities in Peru and making our slow fashion brand as eco-friendly as can be – one scarf at a time!

Every Tukuy creation is more than just a piece of fashion; it’s a statement of sustainability and culture heritage. Also, each piece in our natural collection is unique!

We use alpaca wool at it’s most natural state and color; saving water, avoiding chemicals.

Tukuy = Transform

Our name, “Tukuy”, comes from the quechua word for “transform”. It represents our commitment to positive change.

We care about alpacas

Alpacas Roam Free

Alpacas produce the best fleece when they roam free in the mountains. Alpacas are raised in small herds, using traditional methods. (They are corralled at night for safety).

Gentle Shearing

Most alpaca are sheared using shearing scissors, which is less stressful for the animals. All of our wool is sheared by following the national guidelines for humane practice.

We care about our planet

Low Carbon Footprint

All our production happens in Peru and we reduce our emissions avoiding multiple countries in our supply chain. Also, alpacas are eco-friendly by being gentle with soil promoting plant regrowth.

Eco-friendly Packaging

We avoid any kind of plastic in our packaging, we ship everything in cardboard or paper from FSC certified sustainable packaging.

Our production is certified, ensuring our ethical standards, promoting fair treatment and improving livelihood for the people involved in our supply chain.
